Learn how the getting lighter of the one in your arms each time they breathe in, engages your own breathing from a deep level, and establishes the rhythm of the moves and stretches to come. Learn how floating someone at your heart draws you into a continuum, a moving as water, and a profound stillness. Learn the moves that open every Watsu session around the world. Done on both sides and complete in itself, this unconditional bodywork can be returned to again and again without ever exhausting its potential.

Learn long gracefully flowing transitions into and out of Watsu's major positions. Learn about your own body mechanics - how to support and move each person as effortlessly as possible in the water.

The Transition Flow follows Basic Watsu and completes Watsu 1. Learn to expand the Basic form with long gracefully flowing transitions into and out of Watsu's major positions. Learn to adapt this to people of all sizes, shapes and dispositions. Learn about your own body mechanics - how to support and move each person as effortlessly as possible in the water.

Feedback from students who have taken this class taught by Mary Seamster:

06/03/2017 ... Definitely recommend taking this course with them.
05/29/2017 ... This class provided a strong base for developing skills further. It teaches positioning, observation, and stability skills. I feel confident that with practice I can further build my skills with the tools I have been given. The instructors were knowledgable and observant, and utilized a variety of methods for learning, including: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile cues.
01/28/2017 ... It's the best bodywork I have ever experienced
I have to give it my highest ratings.
It follows the flow of nature in it most subtle ways and offers one too take there healing experience too the highest level. A great way to practice fine tuning , going within. Also it is very easy on your body
01/25/2017 ... Take it! Great team, best instructors, site is beautiful, positive atmosphere
06/05/2016 ... I first took Watsu 1 with Mary Seamster in 2006. It was a great refresher on technique for me. Mary's pool and her dedication to the work is always a supportive and heart felt experience. I would highly recommend taking Watsu 1 or any other course with Mary Seamster at The White Stone Institute.
03/20/2016 ... It is a wonderful modality to add to a healing practice, and good for many situations when clients can't get on a massage table.
01/24/2016 ... Wonderful instruction. Be prepared for very intense learning.
04/23/2014 ... Take the class! Mary is a wonderful teacher with tremendous knowledge coupled with a gentle hand and generous spirit. Class encourages good body mechanics along with muscle balancing and strengthening.
05/10/2013 ... That this class far exceeded my expectations, I think the true intention of this work was thoroughly conveyed by both of the insturctors.
05/08/2013 ... If you believe in the wonders and powers of water then don't hesitate. This class provides you with the confidence and knowledge to assist others to improve physical and mental well being.
05/06/2013 ... That it is a very intense and powerful course. Mary and Kandis are very competent and thorough teachers.
They each give a lot more than is required : time, heart and professionally speaking. Always walked through over and over til we were comfortable with the procedures.

I think it is important for other students to be aware that their own emotional and physical issues may arise, and to go with them and let them be released. This course is also our own healing time. Students need to realize that the water conducts everyone's energy and so there could be issues going on that are felt, even though they are others. In a sense , we all become one for the duration of the class.
04/22/2012 ... It's like no other! We got to spend hours a day in a warm pool giving and receiving therapeutic touch as we learned the movements of Watsu.

09/14/2011 ... It is a fabulous class. Mary is an excellent teacher; she is complimentary to the smallest improvements and corrects in a non-threatening manner. She suggests corrections so that the student feels enlightened instead of inadequate. She is very hands-on and willing to immediately help students who might be stuck.
I didn't have any expectations coming into the class. I really didn't know what to expect Whatever I thought it might be like was met and far exceeded. It was an experience that is another step in a transformation in my life. It helped me find a calm and peace in receiving, and a caring and serving feeling in giving Watsu. I would, and have, suggested the class to people who are interested in helping individuals who experience physical pain or who are seeking release from emotional bondage.
04/18/2011 ... I feel that Mary works very hard to approach Watsu from every different learning style. I highly recommend taking this course. Mary provides a very structured, supportive, open and attentive learning environment. There are lots of hours in the pool to learn and experience the technique. Mary brings in bodies from the community so students can have a varied, real life experience of practicing Watsu with different body types. The dry land learning is just as important and beneficial.
05/23/2010 ... Taking the Watsu 1 course with Mary Seamster has been a very informative class. She is able to teach for all learning types. I am a learner that needs to see it, feel it, read it & apply & practice without feeling pressured. This experience has allowed me to come back & apply what she has taught me with confidence. She has to be one of the most compassionate, patience & knowledgable person that I know. I look forward in my continued journey in becoming a Watsu Practioner.
10/15/2009 ... Mary Seamster is a superb instructor. This class was very well-run. Mary asked us about learning styles (did we feel we learned better if we watched someone do the move, received the move with the instructor/TA giving, practiced on dry land, etc.) and did an excellent job of tailoring her instruction to our preferred learning styles while still keeping us on track to cover all the material. We all had a good amount of time to practice and experience the moves, even when some of us (me included!) struggled to grasp and perfect them. Students who felt they needed more help were offered multiple options including videos to watch before and after class or during lunch break or even additional pool time with Mary before and after class (a very generous offer given that class ran from 8am to 6:30pm and Mary had administrative and planning work before and after that!).

Mary knows Watsu intimately and can isolate the moves while showing them and explaining them verbally. She expects her students to come to class prepared to learn and participate with her, her assistant, and the other students. Mary is warm, loving and kind and has a great sense of humor under any kind of circumstances. I look forward to studying with her again and feel blessed that she lives close enough to me that I can do practice sessions under her supervision.

03/24/2005 ... Mary is a gift to Watsu!
02/15/2004 ... DO!
It's a great course! Mary (& her assistants) provide a whole lot of information but pay close attention to where you are...it feels like they "dance" with where you are and the group is and make adjustments to create a truly tranformative experience. They are gentle and yet firm, get things done but painlesly.
Mary has a great sense of humor and playfulness, but also great wisdom and knows how to listen. She is a great and confident teacher.
03/02/2003 ... Skilfully tought and inspiring. A very creative way of combining water with body and energy work. It was magical.
