Tammy Day, L.Ac., LMT, and Certified Basic Watsu ® Instructor began her Watsu training in 2001 at Harbin Hot Springs. Since then, she has experienced over 1000 hours of aquatic bodywork training in Watsu, Healing Dance, and Waterdance. She fell in love with Watsu upon her first session and was overcome by a spontaneous drive to learn to practice Watsu and to teach it to others.
“ I have found aquatic bodywork to be one of the most profoundly healing modalities that I have ever experienced. Mind and emotions are let go; and unconscious muscular tensions are unwound as I am passively floated and moved in warm water. While all is let go, I am just being. As I am just being, all is let go. This place is where I want to return to always. Everyone should have access to being floated and floating others”.
Tammy Day currently practices Watsu in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Sag Harbor; and, acupuncture and massage in Manhattan. She has been a faculty member at the Swedish Institute of Massage since 2002 where she currently teaches Western massage and Eastern Theory for shiatsu students. She has experience teaching people of many different backgrounds, from absolute beginners to those already trained in a health profession.
